Wow. Too cool. No. So cool. That's Club Six for you. Brought to you by the same fellow who made you believe that 16th and South Van Ness was a hip place to be seen, Liquid's creator spawns another great joint in another lousy neighborhood. The one advantage is that you can always find parking outside the door. And there's nothing like a club that does away with the weak-of-purpose trendies who can't face trudging through the crappy neighborhood.

Bound to be compared to Liquid, Club Six is what Liquid's not. Airy and spacious. It's Liquid gone mature. This is not your local neighborhood bar that just happens to have the coolest DJ's around spinning at it; rather Club Six is your place to lounge and watch and dance and sip a strong drink. And be watched. The club is split between two floors. The downstairs is for the keen dancers (it has that low ceiling, lemme-sweat-now feel to it) and the upstairs is more lounge-lizard. And it's littered with leftover couches. Not just one or two so that the first few keenos get a seat (we generally hate those people who arrive so early), but lots of couches covered in a variety of heinous patterns. It's great. Sit back and watch the traffic. No one will mind you. This is the sort of place where if you make eyes at someone across the room, they might actually see you and gaze back.

Of course, the crowd is hip. Leave your little leather backpacks at home. There's a time and a place for everything and this simply isn't the place. The patrons here are the folks who are always ahead of the bell curve. Guys that go here have spiky hair on purpose. In fact, they are the Diesel inspiration. Or maybe it is the other way around, it doesn't matter. Miu Miu fans of Spring '00 would approve.

The hours are sporadic here. At the moment, Club Six is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Call to make sure you're not going to find yourself stranded.
