The Burgers at North Star Restaurant & Little Dipper Bakery

When I first moved to this city, I started a quest to find two things: pizza that would match my New York taste buds and the perfect burger. After two years, I am happy to say I have found the latter. Before any of you burger aficionados start jumping at me, I’ve been to Flipper’s in Hayes Valley, I’ve been to Burger Joint in the Mission, I’ve been to Barney’s in Noe Valley.

So where is the perfect burger?

Try the cute and quaint North Star Restaurant in Potrero Hill. The place is known for its brunches and I remember a sushi tempura appetizer (dinner menu) that was to die for. But trust me: Go to dinner, ignore all the Silicon Valley transplants and Potrero mommies, and order the burger.

(288 Connecticut Street at 18th Street, 415-551-9840).
