Tuesday nights at Dalva are advertised as "The Power Lounge," which sounds like it might be on the modern Mel Torme tip (may he rest in peace) -- but NO! This is not your stereotypical "lounge."
This is MUSIC FOR YOUR ASS.
That's
how DJ Vinnie describes it, and I shouldn't need to say much more. It's
beats, it's funk, and it's Latin, baby. It's groove and reggae and Afro-Cuban
too. See ..... it's for your ass. Okay, I know that y'all aren't ALL crazy
dancers who go to bars on Tuesday nights to get your underwears up in
a twist while you tear up the 4 foot by 4 foot dance floor next to the
pool table .... but you should, because it's good for you. What better
time to start than this Tuesday? I myself started last week when I went
to see DJ Vinnie, and I can honestly say that my life has improved because
of it. I have more energy, more dates, more money, and my skin looks great.
(You think I'm kidding, but strangely, I'm not.)
And it's all thanks to the sultry spinning of DJ Vinnie (a.k.a. Senor Soul), who is my new guru for all things related to my ass. He knows how to make it move, yo.
