men and baggage

Women are high maintenance, but, ugh, men are just as high maintenance as women sometimes.

I went on a weekend excursion with an ex-boyfriend, and stayed at his brother's house. My Ex-sex and I had different agendas, so I had lunch with a friend and he ran off and did his errands and etc. I came home from lunch, slightly warm from my two glasses of cabernet, to I thought, an empty house. But it wasn't. I was standing in the living room going through my suitcase when this babe-orama came walking down the hallway. He was clad in five-oh-ones and a plaid flannel, with the yummiest blue eyes I'd ever seen. You know the kind, bright and clear, with long eyelashes that every woman on earth envies.

So I ended up having some alone time with him, just chatting, looking into his dreamy eyes, while my panties were getting slightly moist, feeling a definite connection going on, until said Ex and brother show up. All three of them jammed on drums and guitars for an hour and a half, while I did arts and crafts at the dining room table(Martha by Mail, gotta love it) Then the Ex and brother leave, leaving dream-guy and undersexed female alone once again. Harmless flirting prevails. Again, the Ex comes home again, and then leaves, leaving us alone. I couldn't help but have not-so-polite-why-doesn't-he-come-over-here-and-do-me thoughts. We had a casual conversation about sex, and what men go for when making out, what he likes about women(he's an ass-man), and on-and-on-and-on. We talked about relationships, and how he's undersexed, and crap like that. I coud sense that he felt attracted to me. After three opportunities to have a little NICMO (non-committal make-out), nothing happens.

The lesson

So, as Ex-sex and I are speeding down 5 the next day, the Ex fills me in on some gossip: Babe-orama guy has a girlfriend(I asked him about that but he said he "just dates."), plus he got caught cheating on his girlfriend with this other woman last summer, who is now pregnant.

In closing, all I can say is, fuck.
