Susan Knecht _______________________ Writer Susan is a recently transplanted transplant of a transplant once removed. All that to say, Susan used to live in SF, blinked and found herself in Austin Texas, blinked again and is now back in SF. Blinking being more cost-effective than actual air travel, Susan now tries NOT to blink for long periods of time, lest she find herself in yet another venue. After traveling for a time from city to city, checking out the view and searching for the ocean (admittedly not easy to find from Austin), this originally from New York New Yorker, now enjoys the smell of too many cigarettes out on crowded downtown streets, the utter mayhem that is MUNI and the lost art of panhandling - relegated to unparalleled levels of nuance in this golden gate state. All this can be summed up by one word, which is of course, MUNI. All seriousness aside, Susan is deeply considering the idea that writing may be the way to go, if only inertia and writer's block didn't get thrown in as an added bonus and incentive. Having said that, other reasons to be cheerful include watching movies and plenty of them, the Camera Obscura and how it follows the constant wavy waves of Ocean Beach, the great Pacific O and really any O if it's an ocean and larger than one's problem that day…oh! And poetry, lots of poetry by dead poets who are barely living and barely made a living but man, could they toss around a verse. This would include Rimbaud and Kerouac and e.e cummings to name but three….wherever they may be.
