Would I go again? Yes. If someone else is picking up the tab at this French-Asian restaurant. Ambiance: Eighties cool and dark. Crowd: Deep wallets, Kensington beauts. Best: Creamy oysters .. lovely if you're one for the cream and not the brine. The presentation of all the dishes is knock-out and makes you ohh and ahhh upon arrival. For starters we tried the crab and seaweed soup which was goopy but had great flavour. The lobster ravioli was a real winner at the table in no small part due to the head of the lobster making such a dramatic statement on the plate. For mains the scallops looked and tasted good (served in their shell) but, be warned, the portion was tiny so not for those of huge appetite. The glazed black cod with miso was solid. Hard to screw that one up, though. Worst: Very very slow service so be prepared to hail down the staff for help and persist. March 2008 |
